Austbrokers Canberra Raiders Cup action will be on display at GIO Stadium for the second consecutive week as the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs and Gungahlin Bulls look to claim a memorable victory on center stage.

The Goulburn Workers claimed a scrappy win last weekend to mark new coach, Adam Kyle’s first game in charge. Boasting a huge forward pack, Bulldogs will be hoping to make inroads early against a Gungahlin side which exceeded expectations in round one.

Having struggled in 2017, the Bulls almost claimed a memorable victory against the Queanbeyan Kangaroos. Although they couldn’t claim the win, the Bulls would have gained plenty of confidence heading into this match.

The Rams will be looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat against Tuggeranong with a win in their first home game of the season.

To do that, they will need to see off the Queanbeyan Kangaroos who narrowly defeated the Gungahlin Bulls last weekend.

The Kangaroos started strongly against Gungahlin last week but struggled later in the game as the Bulls threatened to pull off a comeback.

The last time the Roos and Rams played, Woden claimed a memorable 36-26 win at Phillip.

Queanbeyan Blues v West Belconnen Warriors – 3pm, Saturday April 14 – Seiffert Oval

The West Belconnen Warriors kickstart their season at Seiffert Oval after having the bye last week.

Having finished last season on a high and then winning the West Belconnen Nines Tournament a few weeks ago, confidence will be high.

The Blues, on the other hand, will be looking to claim their second win after beating Yass last week.

The Queanbeyan based side will have to do it without a number of their senior players however due to suspensions.

Yass Magpies v Belconnen United Sharks – 3pm, Saturday April 14 – Walker Park

Both sides enter this match looking to claim their first win of the season after they both suffered narrow losses during round one.

The Yass Magpies will be looking to maintain the form they showed late on against the Blues but will be missing a few players due to suspension.

Meanwhile, the Sharks will be hopeful of building upon last week’s performance which saw them go down narrowly to Goulburn in what was a scrappy affair.
