Lemons to Lemonade

Some people believe that all setbacks are catastrophic. Me, not so much, knowing that each experience is a gift that does one of three things:

  1. Validates how delicious life is.
  2. Shows us where our homework is.
  3. Helps us realize how strong we are.

The Delicious Life
Of course I'm always so thrilled when presented with those validations that show me how wonderful this Earthly experience is. It refocuses me on the positive and opens me up to ever higher vibes. It's humbling and I am grateful for those grand times that sometimes come via synchronicitic events, but find it most often in the small things, like that perfectly crafted espresso, a pristine sky or the laughter of children.

Our Homework
Then there are those experiences that show us where we still have some homework. These are those events where we react prior to seeing the lesson for what it is, an opportunity to see how much we have evolved and grown. When I experience something and do not immediately identify it as a learning experience or one where I can react out of compassion, instead reacting in lower vibrating emotions of guilt, shame or frustration, I know that it is time to process the situation, my homework laid out before me.

Realize Your Strength
Lastly are those experiences that prove to us our strength. I have certainly had my share of those types of experiences, where I was thrust into the abyss due to circumstances that were outside my sphere of influence. In turn I momentarily hit rock bottom, not knowing if I would ever lift my head again. It's in the middle of great turmoil or chaos, where I realize who I really am, rising from the ashes, like the Phoenix, reborn, once more stronger now then ever before.

Know that the universe presents these experiences to helps us shape and fine tune who we are, allowing us to see things from different angles or points of view. Know that any setback is really just a small blip in the scheme of things. It just depends on how you look at it and how you react. Remember, the only thing that we have control over is our reaction.

You know the saying when life hands you lemons, make lemonade. So if you're going to make lemonade you should make the most delicious, sweetest lemonade that anyone has every tasted. When you do this, life becomes delicious once more.
