Between the most upgraded model ever debuting, a turbocharged engine becoming available and a concept vehicle-inspired appearance, this Mazda6 may be the most sought-after vehicle of 2018. With that being said, let’s take a look at all of the updates you can get.
Updated Design
Let’s first talk about the futuristic look that the 2018 Mazda6 showcases. The theme of this design is "Mature Elegance", which was first seen in the Mazda VISION Coupe that adds a level of sophistication to our signature KODO-Soul of Motion design language.
This look can be seen inside and out through many design cues including:
- New grille, 17” & 19” wheel designs and Soul Red Crystal exterior color
- LED headlights with fog lamps for a wider lighting signature
- Horizontally stretched dashboard
- High-density urethane foam in the seats for added comfort
- And more that’s exclusive for the Mazda6 Signature
2018 Mazda6 Signature Highlights

Introducing the SKYACTIV-G® 2.5T Engine
Previously, the only engine offered for the Mazda6 is the 2.5L SKYACTIV-G® 4-cylinder delivering 184 hp and 185 lb/ft of torque. If you’re looking for a little more oomph under the hood, then you’ll enjoy the all-new SKYACTIV-G® 2.5T engine because it ups the power to 250 hp and 310 lb/ft of torque.
Paired with SKYACTIV-DRIVE® 6-speed automatic transmission to help maximize fuel efficiency, this engine uses an innovative Dynamic Pressure Turbocharger for making it easy to put the pedal to the metal on highways like the NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway & I-80.
The Mazda6 Sport and Touring models will come with the SKYACTIV-G® engine, while the SKYACTIV-G® 2.5T becomes available in the Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and Signature models.
