Vivo V9 launched in India – Aaja “Notch”le

Hate it or Love it, Android mobiles with Notches are here to stay! Deal with it! The first batch of the lot has arrived and it is the Vivo V9. Just like anything that is new, it is a matter of time that we get used to it. So I am going to give it the benefit of time and wait to see if I am liking it or not. But I was at the launch event and I got my hands on the Vivo V9 and here are my first impressions.

Vivo V9

We have been complaining a lot about lack of design innovation in the Vivo mobiles and they seem to have listened to it. Vivo V9 looks a lot like the iPhone X on the front and the back. The notch on the front and the dual camera arrangement at the back looks exactly like on the iPhone X. But there ends the similarity. The Vivo V9 is made of metal and has a nice curve at the back. It has a sturdy build quality and overall the mobile feels good in the hand. It is slim and sleek, yet thankfully it retains the 3.5 mm audio jack.

The 6.3-inch display has an aspect ratio of 19:9 and so it feels a lot smaller. The display is a full HD+ screen and the mobile is powered by the midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor. It has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It runs on Android Oreo out of the box with FunTouch OS 4.0 skin on top.

Vivo has not moved away from the moonlight selfie camera. The front camera has a 24 MP sensor with moonlight selfie flash. The rear camera is a dual sensor arrangement with 16+5MP stacked next to each other. The mobile is powered by 3260 mAh battery.

It is priced at Rs 22990 and will be available across all its retail outlets from 2nd of April. Stay tuned for a detailed review of the Vivo V9 on Gadgetdetail.com.

Pre-booking offers

The device will be available for pre-booking from 23rd March with attractive offers across all offline stores in India and e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall & Vivo’s official E-store (http://shop.vivo.com/in/).

Customers who book the phone online through Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall and Vivo’s official E-store from 23rd March to 2nd April 2018 are eligible for One Time Screen Replacement for V9, in case of any accidental damage to the display. Additionally, consumers can avail a discount of INR 2,000 if the smartphone is brought under an exchange policy. For customers buying the phone on EMI, the partner e-commerce platform will offer no-cost EMI for up to 12 months.
