COLUMBUS - A total of seven area boys were named to the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association All-Ohio basketball teams.

The teams were selected by members of the OPSWA. The Associated Press no longer coordinates postseason honors for high school sports.

The area selections were led by Millersport senior guard Zane Purvis, who was selected to the Division IV All-Ohio second team. Purvis, who was also first team all-district, first team all-Mid-State League-Cardinal Division and first team District 11 coaches Association, topped 1,000 points for his career this season. He averaged 20 points per game for the Lakers.

Also in Division IV, Fisher Catholic’s Keenan Swindells and Fairfield Christian Academy’s Caleb Collins were selected to third team All-Ohio. Swindells was the top 3-point shooter in the Central District, and Collins, who averaged 21 points per game, helped lead the Knights to a district championship after entering the tournament with only eight wins.

Fisher Catholic senior Zach Saffell was named Special Mention All-Ohio in Division IV, and Berne Union junior Chase McCartney was named honorable mention.

In Division II, Fairfield Union’s Colin Woodside, who was the player of the Year in the Mid-State League-Buckeye Division and the Division II District 11 player of the year, was named third team All-Ohio. His teammate, Lucas Thompson, was named honorable mention All-Ohio.
