A Beckenham school has been gearing up its students for the world of work by hosting a Careers Day on Tuesday, March 13.

Employers such as ITV and the London Fire Brigade visited Langley Park School for Girls to give career advice to Year 11 students.

The students each took part in mock interviews to practice their skills and received feedback on how they performed – including whether or not they would have been offered the job.

Many of the company representatives were ex-students of the school who had returned to pass on advice for future applicants.

Joanne Carroll, organiser of the School’s Careers Academy, said students have “huge opportunities” after leaving school, but many of them find it hard to navigate them.

“It is our duty to let all students know what their choices are and give them the skills to make positive ones. We are incredibly grateful to the employers who gave their time so generously.”
