More Kudos For Ossining's Science Talent Search Winner

"It was incredible to learn about Skyler's work related to semiconductors, which earned her a $60,000 award to continue her research!"

From the Office of Rep. Nita Lowey: Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY17/Rockland-Westchester) met with Skyler Jones, a high school senior from Ossining who won eighth place and a $60,000 award in this year’s prestigious Regeneron Science Talent Search.

“Today I had the pleasure of meeting Skyler Jones of Ossining, who finished 8th out of 1,800 students in the 2018 Regeneron Science Talent Search, a very prestigious math and science competition for high school seniors,” said Congresswoman Lowey. “It was incredible to learn about Skyler’s work related to semiconductors, which earned her a $60,000 award to continue her research! Skyler attributes her success to the amazing science teachers she has had over the years, and is looking forward to continuing her education at MIT. I also had the opportunity to introduce Skyler to Dr. Ned Sharpless, the new director of NIH’s National Cancer Institute. I could tell he was impressed by Skyler, as was I. This was a great way to spend Pi Day!”
