SPOKANE — The Cedar Park Christian-Mountlake Terrace boys basketball team produced its lowest-scoring output of the season in a 41-38 loss to fourth-seeded Yakama Nation Tribal on Thursday morning in the quarterfinals of the Class 1B state tournament.
The loss dropped third-seeded CPC-Terrace (27-3) into the consolation bracket. The Lions, who can still finish as high as fourth in the tournament, play Tacoma Baptist at 9 a.m. Friday in a loser-out contest.
The Lions shot just 31 percent from the floor (16-for-51). A day after they hit eight of their first 11 3-point attempts in an opening-round win over Tulalip Heritage, the Lions were just 2-for-17 from beyond the 3-point line against Yakama Nation.
Jaide St. Lewis led CPC-Terrace with 13 points and nine rebounds. Erwin Weary and Jacob Catey each added nine points.
Bryan Strom led Yakama Nation with 12 points.
