COPTRZ announce beyond visual line of sight (BVLoS) one-day workshop

New course will be conducted by elite unmanned aviation industry professionals and prepares participants to make BVLoS applications to regulatory authorities.

COPTRZ, the UK’s leading commercial drone solution provider, has announced a new course focused on beyond visual line of sight (BVLoS) flying.

The one-day course, entitled ‘Introduction to Unmanned BVLoS Operations’, will take place on Tuesday 15th May at the COPTRZ training centre in Hook, Hampshire. The course will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills required to make a BVLoS application to regulatory authorities (such as the Civil Aviation Authority) and then to conduct BVLoS flying safely.

‘Introduction to Unmanned BVLoS Operations’ has been designed by unmanned aviation industry professionals who have experience in teaching students from world-leading organisations such as Boeing, NASA and the United Nations.

COPTRZ anticipates that the BVLoS course will see especially high demand in light of the continual advancements made in commercial drone technology. Participants will be educated on the best way to present their safety case in application to national aviation authorities – a key step to gaining BVLoS approval.

Set in a classroom environment, the course will offer attendees a grounding in safe flying and operating procedures, including BVLoS permission/flight planning, aviation regulations, air traffic management and safety management. Using lectures, as well as the practical knowledge provided by case studies and group work, the course will offer a unique interactive learning experience which is proven to fast track attendees to a solid understanding of issues which are critical to safe BVLoS operations.

Jon Rowland, Head Trainer at COPTRZ said: “At COPTRZ, we are not only a leading commercial drone solutions provider, but are also invested in the ongoing education of commercial drone users at all levels. ‘Introduction to Unmanned BVLoS Operations’ will be a fantastic opportunity for those involved, and the demand for the course is mirrored by the fast rate at which commercial drone technology is continuously developing. The experts who are involved in delivering the course are genuine leaders in their field, and this is a rare chance to tap into their specialised knowledge.”
