If there’s one thing South Korea does well, it's beauty, even when it comes to marketing sports franchises. Consider K-pop group Twice as the third generation K-Pop MVPs. They have endorsed collections from the NBA and MLB since their debut in 2015, like in their music video “Like Ooh-Ahh”. The nine talented members of South Korea’s number one girl group sealed their first sports-related endorsement with NBA Style in 2016, wearing various team jerseys and sweatbands for their spring/summer 2016 collection. They followed it up with a collection of padded coats, fitteds, and hoodies for the fall/winter collection.

Twice’s history of sports endorsements coincided with their breakout viral hit “Cheer Up” where the group’s concept was heavily inspired by the American classic, Bring It On. (For those of you who aren’t familiar, yes, this is the “Shy! Shy! Shy!” song.)

Their contract with NBA Style led to a full-on partnership and collaboration with MLB Korea where I'm confident in saying that all nine members of Twice redefined the term hypebae (how K-Pop insiders refer to “girl crushes”). The group’s signature cute aesthetic was amplified with edgier makeup, deeper lipstick shades, lush lashes, and hoop earrings.

With the kick off of the 2018 Major League Baseball season just around the corner, the nine talented singers are back, to not only showcase some new caps and knits from the league’s latest collection but also serve up some spring-inspired makeup looks. Overall, Twice’s concept this time around is fresh and minimalistic to balance out the colorful collection.

Both members Mina and Tzuyu gave their lids light touches of on-trend pink eye shadow. (You can find tips on pulling off the look at home here, by the way.)

One of the group’s rappers Chaeyoung complements her green get-up with a shimmery purple winged shadow, giving you 2018’s Pantone Color of the Year vibes. Considered to be one of Twice’s youngest, the “young lion cub” gears away from her baby face in “Knock Knock” with this bold look.

Twice’s eldest, Nayeon, serves serious monochromatic looks with a brick-red lip tint similar to Lancôme’s Matte Shaker in Kiss Me Chérie. (Cue “Heart Shaker”.)

Roommates Jeongyeon and Momo, on the other hand, went low-key with their makeup, using hints of champagne eye shadow along their lower lash lines. (I personally “Likey” Momo’s look and the sporty lady-in-red concept of this campaign.)

Known to be the group’s energy pill and all things cute, Sana adds a touch of pink blush on her cheeks. You can recreate the look at home with The Flower Beauty Flower Pots Powder Blush, a 2017 Allure Best of Beauty Award winner.

However, I couldn’t help but notice the use of stickers on two of the members in the new set of photos. Leader of Twice, Jihyo, sprinkled a few stars and triangles on her subtly blushed cheeks like faux freckles while the group’s other rap star, Dahyun, covered her lips in pink and white hearts. Just like her rapping twin, she also lined her lids with some classic wings.

Reports say spring is coming early this year, but that doesn't mean I'm going to wait to recreate Twice’s simple spring looks from this campaign. A couple of their Yankees sweaters and caps that are already up for grabs here. So grab them before it’s too late and your face will end up like “TT”.
