Newark graduates lead teams to rivalry wins

Newark graduates Jordan Dartis and B.J. Duling each played a big role Saturday in helping their respective teams earn victories in rivalry games.

Dartis scored seven points in overtime, including the go-ahead putback, to power Ohio to a 92-87 victory against visiting Miami (OH). The junior guard finished with a game-high 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting and added six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

B.J. Duling tied a career high with 13 points in Kent State’s 78-68 victory against visiting Akron. The freshman forward was 6-of-11 from the floor and added four rebounds and two steals.

Kent State visits Ohio at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The game will be streamed online on ESPN3.
