BOYS BASKETBALL

Fairfield Union 65, Liberty Union 37: Colin Woodside scored a career-high 30 points to help lead the Falcons a Mid-State League-Buckeye Division win over the visiting Lions (6-16, 2-12). Evan Conley chipped in 10 points for the Falcons (17-4, 12-2). Joe Puls had eight points and Jaidon Billingsly added seven for the Lions.

Earlier in the week, the Falcons clinched an outright Mid-State League-Buckeye Division championship, their third consecutive, with a 49-32 win over Circleville. Woodside led the Falcons with 22 points.

Berne Union 55, Rosecrans 39: Two nights after losing at Rosecrans, the Rockets returned the favor with a Mid-State League-Cardinal Division win.

Jake Tharp led the Rockets (12-9, 5-9) with 17 points, Zane Mirgon had 15 and Chase McCartney finished with 14 points.

Circleville 56, Amanda-Clearcreek 53: The Aces lost a home heartbreaker against the Tigers (8-14, 3-11) in Mid-State League-Buckeye Division play.

Will Riffle led the Aces (12-9, 5-9) with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Alex Smith had 11 points and 14 rebounds and Trent Holbrook chipped in 10 points and seven assists.

Wellington 72, Fairfield Christian 33: The Knights were outscored 23-3 in the second quarter in their Mid-State League-Cardinal Division loss. Caleb Collins had nine points for the Knights (7-13, 3-9) and Bradley Anderson finished with eight.

Harvest Prep 90, Fisher Catholic 39: The Irish fell behind 31-10 in the first quarter in their Mid-State League-Cardinal Division loss to the Warriors (21-0, 14-0. Zach Saffell led the Irish (13-9, 9-5) with nine points.

Grove City Christian 77, Millersport 39: The Lakers were outscored 23-5 in the second quarter in their Mid-State League-Cardinal Division loss. Zane Purvis led the Lakers (4-17, 0-13) with 18 points.

Reynoldsburg 84, Lancaster 36: Casey Chrysler led the Golden Gales (3-19, 0-10) with 11 points in their Ohio Capital Conference-Ohio Division loss to the host Raiders (15-7, 5-5), who led 47-23 at halftime.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Millersport 38, Gahanna Christian 30: The Lakers outscored the Lions 18-6 in the fourth quarter to pull out the nonconference victory.

Taylor Jordan led the Lakers (3-17, 1-13) with 12 points, Abby Nelson had 10, while Morgan Bidwell chipped in seven points and Kyla Diley had six.

Morgan 68, Fairfield Christian 51: The Knights (18-3) had four players score in double figures but it wasn’t enough in their nonconference loss.

Hope Custer led the way with 16 points, Celeste Mershimer had 11 and Janae Grabans and Sophia Sterling had 10 points each.

Fairfield Union tops Logan: The Falcons defeated Logan, 40-36, in dual meet on Thursday.  Winning Matches for the Falcons were: 120: Keegan Kohler Pin; 126: Collin Ketcham Pin; 132 Ben Miller Pin; 138 Nathan Welsh Major Decision 17-8; 170 Ethan Miller Pin; 195 David Seymour Forfeit; 285 Brandon Lenhart Forfeit.
