Presidents Day is low-key one of the best holidays for gaming. Sure, it doesn’t have the name recognition as your triple-A holidays, like Christmas or the Fourth of July, but it’s bringing game deals that are just as good. Best Buy’s Presidents Day sale features some great markdowns on gaming PCs and games like Horizon Zero Dawn until Feb. 19. GameStop is marking down Playstation VR bundles with some great titles starting on Feb. 18 and Amazon is discounting well-known Switch games like Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey.

There’s plenty of other deals news separate from Presidents Day, like Kingdom Hearts games being marked down at Amazon and Walmart. By now, millions of people have seen the D23 Expo trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3. We’ve been burned before, but it seems all but certain that it’ll be out in 2018. If you haven’t played all of the games yet, you’re going to want to pick those up and get through them before the new one drops.

  • The Sexy Brutale was one of my biggest gaming surprises of 2017, and it landed itself on Justin McElroy’s best games of the year list. The Groundhog Day-style murder mystery is a whole lot of fun to dive into, but the game has a lot more heart than might be evident at first glance. It’s on sale at a handful of places, but if you use the code LUNAR8, you can get 8 percent off at Fanatical.
  • If you’re looking to get into virtual reality, PlayStation VR is one of the most accessible ways to do so. As part of a Presidents Day sale, Sony is knocking down prices on bundles featuring Skyrim, Doom and Gran Turismo Sport. They’re down to Black Friday prices from Feb. 18 to March 3.
  • Commerce writer Emily Heller recommended it in her Valentine’s Day Co-op game roundup, Simone and Jenna streamed it for our YouTube channel, and now you should pick it up for yourself. I snagged a copy of Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and played with some friends recently. It was pretty much the anti-Overcooked. Instead of getting frustrated with our partners, people just wanted to tell everyone else how well they were doing at their job.
