Scholarships available for private school, homeschool

BUCYRUS - The Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund (NOSF) is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year for need-based scholarships for kindergarten through eighth grade.

Scholarships are worth up to $1,500 for children to use at a non-public school, or $500 for home school expenses. Families must reside in Crawford, Richland, Wyandot, Allen, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams or Wood counties.

Eligible families are required to demonstrate their financial need as measured by standards similar to the Federal School Lunch program.

State Rep. McClain plans office hours

BUCYRUS - State Rep. Riordan McClain (R-Upper Sandusky) has planned three days of district office hours. No appointment is necessary for these office hours.

Office hours will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 20 at Upper Sandusky Community Library, 301 N Sandusky Ave, Upper Sandusky; from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 21 at Bucyrus Community Library, 200 E. Mansfield St., Bucyrus; from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 22 at Mount Gilead Community Library, 41 E. High St., Mount Gilead.

Upcoming library events

• Family Movie Night will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 26 at Crestline Public Library, 324 N. Thoman St., Crestline. The movie is rated PG and is about a dog. People attending may have free popcorn.

• The Bucyrus BookMarkers meet on the third Tuesday of each month. This month, they will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 20. This month’s book is "Ordinary Grace" by William Kent Krueger. Books are available at the circulation desk.

• Bucyrus Public Library will host an antique appraisal program led by Lyle Gebhardt at 11 a.m. Feb. 24. For details, call the library at 419-562-7327.

• Crestline Library will celebrate Dr. Seuss Day at 6 p.m. March 1. This event is open to all ages and sign up is required. Participants will watch a movie, eat a snack and create a craft. To sign up, call 419-683-3909.
