CLASS 4A BOYS
Jackson 65, Monroe 50
EVERETT — Four Jackson players scored in double figures and the Timberwolves overcame a Herculean effort from Monroe’s Colby Kyle to win the loser-out contest at the 4A District 1 Tournament.
Kyle finished with a game-high 34 points, but the Bearcats (17-6 overall) mustered little offense beyond their senior star.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves received 17 points from Ben Olesen, 14 from Christian Liddell, 12 from Kevin Han and 10 from Channer Hendrickson.
“Jackson shot the ball really well,” Monroe coach Ben Williams said, noting that the T-Wolves made nine 3-pointers and were 18-for-21 from the foul line. “Kyle played really well, but we couldn’t make our shots outside the 3-point line.”
Jackson (16-8) advances to play top-seeded Glacier Peak in Saturday’s second-place game for the district’s final state berth.
Although the loss ended the Bearcats’ campaign, Williams said he believes his team has nothing to be ashamed of.
“Overall, it was a success, I’m proud of our guys,” Williams said. “They played hard, left everything on the floor and there are no regrets. We finished No. 2 in (Wesco 4A), something Monroe hasn’t done in a long time. We hope to build off of that for next year.”

CLASS 1B BOYS
Muckleshoot Tribal 88, Tulalip Heritage 51
TACOMA — Tulalip Heritage got off to a slow start offensively and trailed by 26 points at halftime on its way to an 88-51 loss to Muckleshoot Tribal School in a 1B Tri-District semifinal game at Evergreen Lutheran High School.
Josh Lukes paced the Hawks (20-5) with 13 points.
Tulalip Heritage plays Mount Rainier Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. Friday, with the winner advancing to a third-place game.
The Kings (23-2) advance to face Tacoma Baptist in the Tri-District championship game Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Christian High School.
CLASS 4A GIRLS
Mariner 56, Jackson 50
EVERETT — Taliyah Clark continued her impressive freshman campaign, scoring 25 points, as Mariner kept its hopes for a trip to the state regionals alive with a 56-50 victory over Jackson in a loser-out District 1 3A tournament game Thursday at Everett Community College.
Hannah Hezekiah chipped in with 15 points for the Marauders (15-9). Mariner advances to face Glacier Peak in a loser-out-winner-to-state contest Saturday at Everett Community College.
Megan Mattison led the Timberwolves (12-11) with 19 points. Jackson’s season ended with the loss.

CLASS 3A GIRLS
Edmonds-Woodway 55, Snohomish 48
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Adrienne Poling scored 18 points and Brooke Kearney hit all six of her free-throw attempts down the stretch to seal the win for Edmonds-Woodway as the Warriors knocked off top-seeded Snohomish 53-45 in a loser-out 3A District 1 tournament at Mountlake Terrace High School.
After scoring just 17 points in the first half, the Warriors (20-3) hit seven 3-pointers in the second half on their way to outscoring the Panthers 36-24 in the final two periods.
“We knew we had to play our best,” Edmonds-Woodway coach Jon Rasmussen said. “Snohomish is a great team, and it was a great game.”
Kyra Beckman scored 18 points for Snohomish (19-4), which saw its season come to an end.
Edmonds-Woodway moves on to battle Lynnwood in a loser-out winner-to-state contest Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Jackson High School.
CLASS 1A GIRLS
Nooksack Valley 52, King’s 51
MUKILTEO — Claire Gallagher’s 17 points led a trio of King’s players in double figures, but the Knights came up short in a 52-51 loss to Nooksack Valley in a loser-out-winner-to-state 1A Bi-District game at Kamiak High School.
Coming out of halftime tied at 29, the Mountaineers (17-7) held King’s (14-11) to just six points in the third quarter and built a five-point advantage that was just enough to stave off a late comeback attempt by the Knights.
The loss ended the Knights’ season.
Nooksack Valley advances to regionals and plays Meridian on Saturday in a third-place game.
CLASS 1B GIRLS
Rainier Christian 38, Tulalip Heritage 22
TACOMA — Tulalip Heritage mustered just 22 points in a loser-out game at the 1B Tri-District Tournament.
The Hawks end their season with an overall record of 17-7.
