Once committed to Arizona, the
Hudson Catholic (Jersey City, N.J.) point guard announced Wednesday via Twitter that he will play college basketball for head coach Jay Wright and Villanova.
247Sports has the 6-foot senior pegged as the No. 25 overall prospect in the Class of 2018 and the No. 5 point guard. He earned a spot in the prestigious McDonald's All-American Game to be played in Atlanta, Ga., in March.
Quinerly is averaging 19.4 points, 5.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game this season at Hudson Catholic. The Hawks are 17-4 but haven't lost to a NJSIAA opponent.
Arizona gained Quinerly's commitment last August but he reconsidered after the Pac-12 program was entangled in a massive FBI probe into college basketball recruiting practices.
