Hays Eagles: Watch The Birds Care For Their New Egg

Find out here how long it will take for the egg to hatch.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A female bald eagle laid her first egg of the season Monday night, and the webcam that tracks activity at the eagles’ nest in Hays will be streaming throughout the rest of the nesting season.

The female bald eagle and her mate first started nesting along the Monongahela River in Pittsburgh in 2013. A nest was observed by workers at the Keystone Iron and Metal Company.

The egg arrived nearly a year after the pair’s previous nest was destroyed when a tree fell during a strong storm. The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania expects it to hatch in about 35 days.
