BOLIVAR, Mo. — A Bolivar woman won $50,000 from the Jan. 3 Powerball drawing.

Ima Jean Sanders, 72, said this was the first time she’s won anything.

Sanders’ ticket matched four white numbers as well as the Powerball number.

“Oh, no, no, I just won the Lottery,” Sanders said after she realized she had a winning ticket. “I looked and looked. I’m so tickled.”

The winning numbers were 2, 18, 37, 39, 42, and the Powerball number was 12.

Sanders bought her winning ticket at a Fast n’ Friendly, 1602 E. Broadway St. in Bolivar.

With her winnings, Sanders said, she wants to take a vacation.

“I want to go to Florida. I’ve never seen the ocean. I’ve never been out of the Midwest,” Sanders said.

Powerball is a $2 per play multi-state draw game that features jackpots starting at $40 million. Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.
