I would draw a line... Only draft picks and free agents coming off their rookie contracts. Our track record on journeymen or high profile talent hasn't been inspiring.

Well, IF Dallas were stupid enough to let DeMarcus Lawrence hit the street, I might consider an exception...

Same with Panthers' Andrew Norwell; man has been an absolute beast and would definitely upgrade the line...

Not sure I'm seeing anyone else worth high dollars, yet...

Which is my concern . Loomis can make anyone high dollar.

Dallas will not let go of DeMarcus Lawrence but even if they're dumb enough to do that , he is out of the Saints' price range. The same goes for Norwell.
Keep dreamin'.

At worst the Cows will tag (franchise)him. Elite edge rushers are too hard to come by.

We've got more cap room this year than we've had probably in the past six years...

Draft by need and only trade for a piece or 2 to solidify our defense. We need to stop messing around for URFA. If the team that had them wanted them they would sign them. Would you hire someone who'd just been fired from another job in the same profession? Probably not!

I don't see us doing anything different than we have been doing.

1. fill holes with FA's.
2. Draft BPA.

The difference the past offseason or two is we have some people making rock solid picks in the draft.

With Jeff Ireland on board this is a winning formula.
