Remember the time Donald Trump and Rosa Parks were honored with diversity awards together?

Racism accusations against President Trump were mysteriously non-existent before he entered politics as a Republican.

CBN correspondent David Brody took issue with an ABC “Meet the Press” montage that accused the president of racism, and reminded his fellow panelists of the occasion when the New York billionaire was awarded a medal for “diversity and tolerance” alongside civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

Brody countered the narrative of racism that arose this week in response to the president’s alleged remark about Haiti being a “s—hole” country.

“I’m just telling you, in the heartland of this country, they look at these media headlines, and they see all of this, with the clip, the montage that you just played, but what was not in the montage is in 1986, Donald Trump won the Ellis Island Medal of Honor Award for diversity and tolerance,” the CBN journalist said.

“And oh, by the way, who was with him on that stage? Rosa Parks. So if we’re going to go ahead and have a montage, we probably should include some of that. I’m not saying that defends what he did, but what I’m saying is that’s why there’s a lot of distrust in the media today.”

The award Brody referenced was the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which recognizes American citizens who embody “patriotism, tolerance, brotherhood and diversity.”

The National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations chose Trump as one of the honor’s recipients during the inaugural ceremony in 1986.

Some liberals like to believe the photograph was forged, but the fact-check website Snopes confirmed the picture and event’s veracity.

A number of prominent figures have accused Trump of racism over his alleged remarks about nations like Haiti, which he denied.

Rep. John Lewis vowed to protest the president’s State of the Union address over the comment. Lewis said he believes Trump is “racist.”

On Sunday, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., revealed that President Trump financed a medical mission in which the lawmaker, an ophthalmologist, traveled to Haiti and helped 200 of the island nation’s people receive a restoration of their vision.

Under the current administration, black unemployment is at a 17-year low–a figure Trump has heralded.

For someone who’s supposedly racist, Trump’s governing has done a surprising amount of good for blacks.
