Santos are continuing to work upon bringing Gabriel Barbosa back to the club according to reports coming out of Brazil.

UOL Esporte report that Inter have made it clear they want €1.5 million upfront to enable Gabigol, as he is otherwise known, to return to Santos on an 18 month loan deal. Santos however do not currently have that much money readily available and are hoping Inter will give in and allow them to pay the figure in three separate instalments.

Moreover, it is understood that Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and Technical Coordinator Walter Sabatini have told the Brazilian side that Gabigol’s future is not currently one of their priorities this transfer window as they wish to deal with other transfers beforehand.

The 21-year-old joined Inter in a €30 million deal back in 2016 but has failed to make an impression at Inter or at Benfica where he was loaned out to this season.
