I had a feeling something was up. After teasing her new, hotly anticipated mystery lip hues on Instagram this past weekend, Rihanna finally came through and gave us what we've all been hoping for: answers. The 29-year-old makeup mogul just took to her Instagram account to officially announce the launch date of her new line of matte lipsticks — called Mattemoiselle — and as expected, the comment section is already ablaze with people's excitement over the not-yet-released collection.
And the best part is that we won't even have to wait long to get our hands on the Fenty goodies, because according to the post they're due to launch December 26. That's right: the day after Christmas, y'all. Rihanna doesn't disappoint; she knows how much people love to shop after the holidays. From what we can tell (after watching the short and flashy video that she posted to her personal account), there are 14 shades in total, which include a range of neutrals, classic red, and berry, as well as some seriously high-voltage colors, like the periwinkle and bold fuchsia shades she showcased over the weekend.
"14 new @fentybeauty lipstick shades coming right up!! #MATTEMOISELLE drops online at 9am EST on Dec. 26 Be first in line @sephora @harveynichols and #SephorainJCP," she wrote in the caption. (Cue me setting my alarm and calendar reminders accordingly.)
In a follow-up post, she unveiled a photo of herself wearing the shade Clapback — aka the blue-black color she also teased on Instagram last week — and just as I thought, it's everything and more. Needless to say, Fenty fans (and Allure editors) will be in a frenzy until further notice. Mark those calendars, people.
