Palace to show 'Murder on the Orient Express'

MARION - The film "Murder on the Orient Express" will be shown this weekend at the Marion Palace Theatre, 276 W. Center St.

From the novel by best-selling author Agatha Christie, “Murder on the Orient Express” tells the tale of 13 strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect. Detective Hercule Poirot must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again. The cast includes Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley and Josh Gad.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Sunday, with an additional 2 p.m. showing on Sunday.

Park District plans holiday event

MARION - The Marion County Park District is offering a holiday-themed event, "Holidays at the Park" from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 16 at Marion Tallgrass Trail.

The event will feature reindeer from Pine Acre Farms, Santa Claus, refreshments and kids crafts. Parents should bring their own camera for pictures with Santa.
