Cy Prettyman re-elected Farm Bureau treasurer

NEW BLOOMINGTON - Cy Prettyman of New Bloomington was re-elected treasurer of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation on Dec. 8 during the group’s 99th annual meeting. This is his second full term as treasurer, the third-highest elected office in the organization. Prettyman was elected to the board of trustees in 2012 and represents members in his district that encompasses Richland, Crawford, Marion and Morrow counties.

Prettyman raises corn, soybeans and beef cattle with his family and is a sales specialist with Purina Animal Nutrition. A 19-year member of Marion County Farm Bureau, Prettyman has served as its president and has been active with local and state Pork Producers Councils and the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association. He is a member of the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board.

He and his wife, Julie, have a daughter and son. They attend Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky.

Village of Morral seeks new council member.

MORRAL - The Village of Morral is seeking a new council member. Interested applicants must be a village resident, registered voter and 18 or older.

Staci Bond joins Primrose as sales director

MARION - Primrose Retirement Community of Marion has hired Staci Bond as the new sales director. In this capacity, Bond will oversee all sales and marketing efforts, as well as public relations events and professional outreach, for the independent and assisted living community, 1550 Wellness Drive.

Upcoming meetings

• The Marion Township Zoning Commission recently elected officers for 2018. Marilyn Smith will serve as chairperson, Mauri Morse as vice chairperson. The other commission members are Clancey DeVore, Denny Smith and Gerald Wade. The secretary is Jennifer Sidle. Meetings are held in regular session at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at 1228 E. Fairground St., Marion. All meetings are open to the public. 

• The Scioto Conservancy District Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 in the Ag Credit conference room at 1100 E. Center St., Marion.
