Taven Bryan declares for the 2018 NFL Draft

Florida Gators defensive lineman Taven Bryan has declared for the 2018 NFL Draft.

The redshirt junior announced on Monday that he will forego his final year of eligibility with the Gators and enter the Draft. On Twitter Bryan said

“When I first set foot in #TheSwamp I knew it was a special place. #GatorNation has always made me feel like family and no matter what he future holds, I will always be a Gator. Coach Mullen coming back to Gainesville made this decision very difficult because I have the highest regard for him and I believe he is going to bring greatness to #GatorNation. However, after a lot of consideration with my family and coaches, I have decided to forgo my senior year and enter the 2018 #NFLDraft.”

in 2017 Bryan had 40 tackles, four sacks, six tackles for a loss and three quarterback hurries despite being the focus of double teams all season.

Bryan joins junior receiver Antonio Callaway as Gators that have declared early for the 2018 draft.

A South Florida native, Nick developed a passion for all things sports at a very young age. His love for baseball was solidified when he saw Al Leiter’s no-hitter for the Marlins live in May of 1996. He was able to play baseball in college but quickly realized there isn’t much of a market for short, slow outfielders that hit around the Mendoza line. Wanting to continue with sports in some capacity he studied journalism at the University of Central Florida. Nick got his first start in the business as an intern for a website covering all things related to the NFL draft before spending two seasons covering the Florida football team at Bleacher Report. That job led him to GatorCountry. When he isn’t covering Gator sports, Nick enjoys hitting way too many shots on the golf course, attempting to keep up with his favorite t.v. shows and watching the Heat, Dolphins and Marlins.
