Lang all in with the Florida Gators after his official visit

The Florida Gators hosted several commits on campus for Dan Mullen’s first official visit weekend as new head coach as the Gators tried to sure up those commitments.

Tight end Dante Lang (6-5, 220, Boca Raton, FL. High) was on campus and he enjoyed the official visit and hanging out with everyone.

“It was great,” Lang said of his official visit. “I had a great time with the coaches and the players and being around some of the commits. We just got to hang out and chill with everyone.”

Lang called the atmosphere different but different in a good way as he liked the energy of the coaches.

“Everyone there is amazing people,” he said of the new coaching staff. “I talked to everyone. There wasn’t one coach that I didn’t meet and everyone was positive. Everyone was happy to be there.”

Mullen had a chance to sit down with Lang on Saturday and explain why the Gators need someone like him at the tight end position.

“He said that he needs a guy like me,” Lang said of Mullen’s message to him. “He said he needs someone who can be able to flex out wide and make mix matches with my size.”

Lang also got the chance to meet with some of the new coaches and all of them were expressing a big need for him in Gainesville.

“Everyone was saying the same thing really,” he said of the messages from the other coaches. “They were saying that they were glad to have me and can’t wait for me to get up there.”

This was the first time for Lang and his family to interact with Mullen and the first impression was a good one.

“He’s a very happy guy,” Lang said of his impression of Mullen. “He brought a smile to everyone’s face as soon as he walks in a room. He can do a lot for the Gators.”

Lang also got the chance to bond with several other Florida commits and the tight end is now ready for the next few years playing with them.

“It was great to be around all of them,” he said of hanging out with the commits. “I got to learn how they act and got to see how the next four years will be like.”

Heading into the visit Lang had some questions he wanted answered but leaving the visit he knows where he’s signing in nine days.

“I’m already a Gator and I’m sticking with them 100 percent,” Lang said of his status with Florida. “I plan on signing on the 20th and allbite18 is something special and serious. Just wait on it.”
