Thanksgiving night fights shut down Alabama mall, shoe reportedly hit baby
Fights shut down an Alabama mall early Thanksgiving night.
About a dozen officers were called to Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham, Ala., Thursday because of several fights reported in the mall, WBRC Fox6 News reports.
Officials found at least one fight after 11 p.m. on the mall’s second floor, AL.com reports. Video of a fight also circulated on social media.
Hoover police officers separated two girls who were fighting and treated them for minor injuries, according to a statement. The fight didn't start because of holiday sales, police said.
Local Fox news producer Steffany Means said on Facebook a witness told her someone threw a shoe over a railing, hitting a baby.
Police made no arrests.

The mall was set to close at midnight, but instead shut down about 11:20 p.m., AL.com reports.
An hour earlier, police received reports of gunfire outside the mall, but found no evidence of shots fired, according to a police statement.
Hoover Police said they've increased security at the mall throughout the holiday season.
