Big Brothers Are Watching You started as a feasibility test (vimeo.com/103511937) on controlling multiple Windows thru Processing and Java’s Abstract Window Toolkit API. Flocking behavior was later integrated, adding a lifelike texture to the Windows GUIs. All Big Brothers appear as cute Windowed creatures with innocent cartoonish eyes, but continue to stare at your cursor, seemingly tracking your cyber behavior for some unknown purposes.
In 2017, it is further developed and customized into multiple versions for the exhibition Exploring (nabi.or.kr/english/project/past_read.nab?list_num=165&idx=577) at Art Center Nabi in Seoul, Korea, including one directly tracking the physical presence of the audience at ACN. The entire installation is programmed using Processing and OpenCV.
