And the drunkest city in Ohio is...

Ahead of holiday gatherings that often feature the consumption of alcoholic beverages, 24/7 Wall Street has compiled the drunkest cities in all 50 states.

Leading the way in Ohio? Columbus.

"To identify the drunkest city in each state, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed the percentage of men and women over 18 who report binge or heavy drinking in each state’s metro areas," the report says.

According to the data gathered in the report, an estimated 19.6 percent of adults in the Columbus metro areas drink excessively.

Overall, Ohio ranks 14th in the percentage of adults who binge drink or drink heavily at 19.2 percent, the report says.

Another interesting takeaway: 

While excessive drinking is never healthy, the metro areas with the highest excessive drinking rates are often home to healthier populations than their respective state’s population. Of the 50 cities on this list, 44 are home to a larger share of adults who report being in good health than the share across the state as a whole.
