...2024 Iowa Tornado Drill at 10 AM This Morning...

As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa this week, the
statewide Iowa test tornado drill will occur at 10 AM this
morning.

The National Weather Service encourages schools, businesses,
hospitals, law enforcement, other agencies, and those at home to
use this drill as an opportunity to test their severe weather
communications and sheltering plans.

The drill will be broadcast on NOAA Weather Radio using the
Required Weekly Test (RWT) code and will serve as this week`s
test for our Iowa Counties. National Weather Service La Crosse will
still conduct the RWT as usual for our Minnesota and Wisconsin
counties between 11 AM and noon.

As part of the Iowa tornado drill, some communities may sound
their outdoor warning sirens, and some TV and radio stations may
briefly cut into programming. There will not be any wireless
emergency alerts or push notifications on phones.
