The fleet and allusive 5-foot-10, 180-pound senior all-purpose back at
Tulare Union (Tulare, Calif.) rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns on Friday in a resounding 42-12 Central Section Division II semifinals at Bob Mathias Stadium.
That gives Allen 66 touchdowns on the season, breaking the California record of 64 set by Ventura's Tyler Ebell in 2000.
Allen broke the record with a 62-yard touchdown jaunt late in the second quarter.
"Just a crazy accomplishment," Allen told the
Bakersfield.com reporter Jon Mettus. "I just want to thank my O-line. You can't do it by yourself without the people blocking for you."
Allen has had a crazy-good season for a team that is 12-0 and two wins from a CIF State playoff berth. He entered Friday's game with 2,546 rushing yards (13.5 per carry) and 53 touchdowns.
He also 25 catches for 776 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had a kickoff return for a touchdown.
The 3-star recruit, who earlier decommitted from Boise State, has 10 FBS offers, including from Cal, Arizona, San Diego State and Wisconsin.
