The Metropolitan Police is offering a £20,000 reward for information leading to the prosecution of those responsible for the attempted shooting of a father of two in East London. The Met released shocking CCTV footage of the incident, showing two suspects exit a vehicle and fire shots as they appear to enter a residential building.

The victim was 32-year-old Haroon Hussain, police said, adding that the shooting had left Hussain with "life-changing injuries". Trident officers investigating the attack believe that the suspects fired semi-automatic weapons over a dozen times during the incident on Thursday 9 June 2016.

In the release on 15 November 2017, authorities said that the alleged attempted murder had taken place around 11.17pm at Beatrice Close in Plaistow. Though Hussain was found and taken to hospital, he is "never expected to make a full recovery", police said.

Hussian is now unable to use his right hand, has difficulty walking, suffers epileptic fits and short-term memory loss. Hussian was found lying on the street by his wife.

"I am hoping this significant reward will prompt someone to come forward with information that will assist in helping us to identify the suspects for this attempted murder. It is a miracle Mr Hussain survived his injuries and it is vital the men who attacked him are apprehended." Detective Sergeant Nick Hamer said.

"The use of semi-automatic weapons like this on the streets of London is still rare, but makes it is all the more important we also recover this weapon and remove it from the streets.

"Mr Hussain is a local businessman with a young family and a clear motive for the attack on him has never been established.

"The effects on him have been traumatic both physically and psychologically. In addition this has had a profound effect on his family. They have had to move out of their home address due to this incident.

"The shooting happened over a year ago now but I am hoping that someone will come forward who has information. If anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Plaistow area on Thursday 9th June 2016, please contact us as soon as possible."
