The votes are in and the City of Sault Ste. Marie’s splash pad project is one of 35 finalists in the Aviva Community Fund competition. The finalists were listed at noon today with Sault Ste. Marie’s first splash pad project announced as a contender in the Community Health category.

“Hundreds of ideas from across the country were submitted to this year’s competition and we are extremely happy with this result,” said City Councillor Paul Christian, Chair of the City’s Bellevue Park splash pad committee.

“Thank you Sault Ste. Marie for your support in voting and sharing the contest details. I would also like to thank the splash pad committee and City staff for their work in getting us to this point.”

Now that the finalists have been chosen, a panel of judges with the Aviva Community Fund grant will review the final 35 ideas to determine who will be a Grand Prize Winner and share in the $1 million Aviva Community Fund. Winners will be announced Dec. 5 at noon.
