We’re entering Week 9 of the NFL season, which means we’re at the midseason point of the year and it’s time to reflect a little. For the 5-2 New Orleans Saints, a lot of things have come together to help Sean Payton’s squad get off to a strong start in 2017, but it feels like one player has been the most important piece to the puzzle over others, and that’s rookie cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

We polled Twitter, gathered insight from the staff, and it wasn’t even close. Lattimore is the team’s midseason MVP.

The guy looks like a veteran out there, so fluid in his movements, tracks the ball and attacks it in the air.

For the first time in a long while, I'm not scared when the D come out on the field.

It's all in the hips .

Seriously speaking, Marshon is as close to shut down as it gets. At some point, I can see the safety coverage roll away from his side making it easier for a DC to game plan.

Closing speed, change of direction, jump technique (see deep pass intended for Jordy Nelson) ... you name it, he's got it in his repertoire.

Scary thing for offenses is that he is only 21. 21 one and playing elite football. That's incredible.

Keep grinding.

One of you lucky guys that gets to go to the next home game needs to make a Dilly Dilly sign and bring it with you and take a pic of it and post it here. Lol.

Maybe the defense will start calling themselves the "Dilly Dilly Defense" instead of whatever they call themselves now. Lol.

Love Lattimore. What about Ramcyczk? Read that he was rated 14th among all offensive linemen in the league! Not too mention the Kamara! Only improving. Too bad Anzalone got hurt and at least Williams is playing decenct. GREAT rookie class! Kudo's Jeff Ireland.
