Amazon Studios' Roy Price Resigns Following Sexual Harassment Claim

As Hollywood continues to reel over the alleged behavior of some of its leading figures, it seems another screen exec has exited stage left.

Amazon Studios executive Roy Price has reportedly resigned as a result of sexual harassment claims made against him. As Deadline reported, the allegations were leveled by Isa Hackett, who has worked under Price's leadership while serving as executive producer for the hit dystopian Amazon show The Man in the High Castle.

Price's departure is the latest development in what's been a snowballing series of revelations around sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood since multiple accusations against the producer and mogul Harvey Weinstein became public last week.

As The Verge noted, Hackett had initially filed a complaint against Price in 2015 following the incidents, but saw no recourse against him from Amazon at the time.

As Forbes reported last week, Hackett has chosen to go public with the details of her claims thanks to the growing wave of victims who speak out and victim-supporters who demand answers. According to her August report, picked up by The Information, Price allegedly made numerous highly inappropriate comments to his female coworker and effective subordinate, at one time telling Hackett, "You will love my dick."

Following news of Price's indefinite leave from Amazon Studios last week, a spokesperson for Amazon told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement, "We take seriously any questions about the conduct of our employees.”

After today's news, a spokesperson for Amazon also confirmed his resignation to The Verge.

Amazon was reached out to for comment, which will be included here when and if available.
