Close Protection personnel challenged to perform

The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary Close Protection Personnel (CPP) have been challenged to give their best in their line of duty come the 2018 APEC meeting and beyond.

Commander of National Security Unit (NSU), Inspector Reginal Panau, challenged the 27 graduating CPP officers at the Bomana Police College to strive to achieve high standard results.

“You people are the frontline officers that will be in close contact with the visiting delegates and leaders of APEC member countries so your conduct will portray the image of the constabulary and the country.

“APEC is our business and with the limited time, we have to get down and start taking the training and exercise seriously.

He challenged them saying that they have sworn an oath to wear this uniform to perform well and to the best of our ability so they have a duty to honour that.

“I won’t tolerate laziness. I want people to be self-motivated and self-trained to become the best,” Inspector Panau said.
