Here are four local prep matchups to keep an eye on this week:
1. Girls swimming and diving: Lake Stevens at Snohomish, 3:15 p.m. Tuesday. This is the last regular-season meet for both teams as they begin preparations for the postseason. The Vikings have an 8-0 Wesco 4A record, while the Panthers sport a 6-0-1 conference mark.
2. Volleyball: Arlington at Stanwood, 7 p.m. Tuesday. This match might decide the Wesco 3A regular-season champion. The Eagles are on top of the conference with a 9-0 record, and the Spartans are right behind at 8-0. Player to watch: Arlington’s Ariana Bilby, who has recorded 52 kills in the Eagles’ last four matches.
3. Girls soccer: Granite Falls at Cedarcrest, 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Red Wolves (7-1-1 Cascade Conference) are vying for the conference title thanks to their stout defense; they’ve surrendered just three goals in nine conference contests. The Tigers (6-2-1 conference) have one of the conference’s best offenses, averaging more than three goals per game.
4. Girls soccer: Shorecrest at Meadowdale, 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The Scots (6-2-1 Wesco 3A) have rebounded from a slow start and are in contention for the conference title. The Mavericks (5-2-3) have surged to the top half of Wesco 3A on the strength of a seven-game unbeaten streak in conference play.
