Former on-air personality Marietta Marich has died

Marich was 87

HOUSTON – Former local on-air personality Marietta Marich has died, according to a family friend.

A biography of her says Marich graduated from Southern Methodist University in the 1950s and sang for the Tommy Dorsey orchestra and went to Hollywood before working at KPRC.

It's there where she met Bob Marich, who died in 2012. The two promoted and ran a network of live theater houses in the Houston area.

The biography said she hosted her own TV show called "Midnight With Marietta" on KPRC in the 1950s and 1960s. Marietta Marich is also known for her role in the 2003 film "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

Marietta Marich was 87.
