Lighthizer, Freeland say Boeing-Bombardier spat won’t affect NAFTA talks

OTTAWA – Boeing’s campaign to subject Bombardier’s C Series plane to countervailing duties – which has been successful so far – will not impact NAFTA talks, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said after the third round of NAFTA negotiations ended here. Freeland raised the issue with Lighthizer during a bilateral meeting on Thursday, both ministers said in separate sessions with reporters.
