Sheffield History
Not sure what it is about Fitzalan Square in Sheffield City Centre but it certainly does seem to produce so many vivid memories of the past than most areas of Sheffield For instance check out this fantastic colour photo showing the bright red phone boxes outside - do you remember them? And what a feeling it was as a kid walking through the main doors into this amazing building. It felt so grand and huge and was a really special experience despite it being literally just going to a post office! Some cool cars outside too! tozzin
I would have loved to been able to visit what was the main Post Office in town that stood on the corner of Commercial St and Haymarket, was lately a bank, now it's stands empty, I just hope it isn't altered or worse still demolished.
