BREAKING: Multiple Florida Gators facing felony charges

Sworn complaints have been filed against nine Florida Gators have been sent to the State Attorney’s Office.

Juniors Antonio Callaway and Jordan Scarlett headline the list of players that also included defensive lineman Keivonnis Davis, receiver Rick Wells, linebackers Ventrell Miller, James Houston, offensive lineman  defensive lineman Richerd Desir-Jones.

It is important to note that a “sworn compliant” does not mean charges have been filed. The sworn complaint made by the University of Florida Police Department mean that, based on their investigations, they are recommending theses charges to the State Attorney’s Office. State Attorney Bill Cervone will review the cases and

Kadeem Telfort is facing 30 charges, all third degree felonies. Jordan Smith is facing five and the rest of the players are facing two charges apiece.

The complaints were filed during Jim McElwain’s Monday press conference

“You’re darn right,” McElwain said. “You know you’re asking me something I don’t even know anything about. I don’t know if that’s fair. You asked me a question. I mean I’m not sure you’d be sitting here with a felony.”

Gator Country will have more on this breaking story.

A South Florida native, Nick developed a passion for all things sports at a very young age. His love for baseball was solidified when he saw Al Leiter’s no-hitter for the Marlins live in May of 1996. He was able to play baseball in college but quickly realized there isn’t much of a market for short, slow outfielders that hit around the Mendoza line. Wanting to continue with sports in some capacity he studied journalism at the University of Central Florida. Nick got his first start in the business as an intern for a website covering all things related to the NFL draft before spending two seasons covering the Florida football team at Bleacher Report. That job led him to GatorCountry.
