Sources have informed BoxingScene.com that Daniel Jacobs has signed multi-fight agreements with HBO and British promoter Eddie Hearn.

The deals for Jacobs, a former WBA middleweight champion from Brooklyn, will be announced during HBO’s replay of the Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin middleweight title fight Saturday night.

Jacobs’ last fight – a highly competitive, unanimous-decision loss to Golovkin on March 18 at Madison Square Garden – was broadcast by HBO. Two of Jacobs’ previous three fights were televised by Showtime, but HBO’s Peter Nelson began expressing interest in working exclusively with him since his close loss to Golovkin.

The 30-year-old Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) was considered for a slot in Showtime’s tripleheader November 4 at Barclays Center. Instead, HBO will televise his next fight at some point later this year against an unidentified opponent.

Agreeing to compete exclusively on HBO should assist Jacobs in his pursuit of a rematch against Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs). It also could help him eventually land a fight against Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs), especially if Jacobs cannot get Golovkin to fight him again.

Mexico’s Alvarez and Kazakhstan’s Golovkin fought to a controversial, 12-round draw a week ago at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. They are expected to fight again sometime in 2018, though not necessarily next.

Jacobs technically has worked without a promoter in recent years, but now will work solely with Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing. Hearn’s company has become the most prominent promoter in the United Kingdom in recent years, and works with British stars such as IBF/IBO/WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, former IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook and IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale.

Matchroom Boxing is branching out into the United States and is expected to open an office in New York. Jacobs is the first American fighter Hearn has signed as part of this initiative.

HBO’s broadcast is set to begin Saturday night at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. In addition to the Alvarez-Golovkin replay, HBO will televise a live bout between Venezuela’s Jorge Linares (42-3, 27 KOs), the WBA world lightweight champion, and England’s Luke Campbell (17-1, 14 KOs), Linares’ mandatory challenger.
