Video: Viral fifth grade star at it againSee the electrifying quarterback gash defenses as a high school senior.Demias Jimerson was one of the most viral youth football players in recent memory, and he is still running circles around defenses as a high school senior.
The electric
Malvern (Ark.) quarterback
plays against Bauxite on Friday after going off for 390 rushing yards, 130 passing yards, and seven touchdowns in a 67-58 victory over Lakeside (Hot Springs, Ark.) last week. The memorable performance also gave the Leopards their first win of the season.
Back in 2011, the 11-year-old phenom was literally too good for his peers. Arkansas league officials invoked the ''Madre Hill Rule" (named after Arkansas Razorbacks superstar Madre Hill) that banned Jimerson from scoring as a fifth- and sixth-grader if he already scored three touchdowns and his team was ahead by at least 14 points.
"He's truly a special talent," head coach Mike Scarbrough said.
"He's an absolutely tremendous runner. He just picks a hole and goes.
It's like backyard football, and you never know what he'll do next.
There is no doubt that he's our guy and we'll go as far as he takes us
this year. He doesn't hold any Division I offers, but he's generating
significant interest."
The 5-foot-11, 171-pound dual-threat QB has gashed defenses for 690 rushing yards and averaged 14 yards per carry with nine rushing TDs this year. Jimerson has racked up 410 passing yards, 1,100 total yards, and 13 TDs in just three games. The versatile threat also showed off his wheels with an 88-yard kickoff return TD in his first game this season. Even more impressive, he has averaged four touchdowns per contest.
Jimerson might be even more talented on the baseball diamond. He batted a team-high .457 with 42 hits, 26 RBIs and 14 stolen bases last year. He also owned an 8-2 mark with a 1.46 ERA on the hill in leading the Leopards to the Arkansas Class 4A state semifinals. He also earned All-State honors in basketball.
