GIRLS SOCCER

Lancaster 2, Pickerington 1: The Golden Gales defeated the Tigers for the first time in 18 previous tries. Lancaster was 0-17-1 against Pickerington Central before their victory Tuesday night.

Lauren Frick scored both goals on a penalty kick and a direct kick, both coming in the first half. The Gales’ defense of Emily Baird, Hannah Hurdley, Abbie Mahon and Isabella Galecki held strong in the second half to preserve the lead, and Kayla Weaver had four saves in goal.

GIRLS GOLF

Horn wins medalist honors: Amanda-Clearcreek’s Sophia Horn shot 86 to take home medalist honors at the Mid-State League-Buckeye Division Post Season tournament at Upper Landsdowne Golf Course. Teays Valley won the league title (16-0), followed by Logan Elm (9-7), Bloom-Carroll (9-7), Circleville (6-10) and Liberty Union (0-16).

Lancaster 183, Hilliard Darby 201: Vivian George fired a 39 to take home medalist honors in the Gales nonconference win over Darby at Rolling Meadows Golf Course. Also scoring for Lancaster was Emily Herzog (42), Michala Stewart (48), Michelle Wagner (54) and Janaya Naayers (61).

BOYS GOLF

Lancaster competes at Zanesville and Worthington: The Gales were topped by Zanesville 165-175 at the Zanesville Country Club with Clayton Harrison shooting a 41 to lead the way, and he was followed by Jesse Brunton (43), Chase Noland (45), Brandon Johnson (46), Cole DeLion (51) and Kaden Mathias (58).

Lancaster also competed in the Howlett Invitational at Worthington Hills Country Club and the Gales finished 15th out of 21 teams. Leading the Gales in scoring was Noland (86), Harrison (88), Johnson and Brunton (91) and Chaz Knecht (92).

Canal Winchester 171, Bloom-Carroll 176: Reagan Fargrell and Travis Hall both shot 42 to lead the way for the Bulldogs as they were edged out by the Indians. Corey King and Joe Luckhaupt both shot 46.

VOLLEYBALL

Fisher Catholic 3, Grove City Christian 1: After losing the first game, the Irish rallied to win three straight in a 21-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-19 victory. Nata Lozada and MacKenzie Fourman led the Irish in Kills with 10 apiece, followed by Sammie Kerns and Caroline Menosky both with nine Kills and Carynn Collier added five kills.

Lozada had 13 points, Marcie McGuire and Mary Kronner had 10 and Kerns six. Krooner also added 41 assists and two Blocks.  The Irish (6-9, 2-2) were ked defensively by McGuire, Eisenacher and Katie Maynard.

Fairfield Christian 3, Rosecrans 0: The Knights remained a perfect 6-0 in the Mid-State League-Cardinal Division with a 25-20, 25-16, 25-11 win. Blair Barr had 13 kills to lead the Knights (11-1, 6-0).

Liberty Union 3, Amanda-Clearcreek 1: The Lions cruised to a 25-11, 25-13, 25-9 MSL-Buckeye Division win over the Aces. Savannah Simonson had five kills and Morgan Robinson had 20 digs for the Lions (8-5, 2-4).

TENNIS

Lancaster 5, Logan 0: The Golden Gales cruised past the Chieftains as Hope Rooker won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, Sydney Bird won 6-2, 6-3 and at No. 3 singles, Kate Smith won 6-1, 6-0. At No. 1 doubles, Stephanie Drapp and Sarah Hoffman won 6-0, 6-1 and at No. 2 singles, Alana Matheney and Presleigh won 6-1, 6-1.
