NIXA, Mo.–Nixa is one of the best places to live in the nation, according to a ranking out by Money magazine.

Money looked at cities that offer a healthy economy, affordable homes, and a high quality of life.

Nixa placed number 97 on the list of 100.

City council member Jimmy Ledbetter Jr. credits the community for making the list.

“It was an absolute honor for us to be put on that list,” said Ledbetter. “We didn’t apply for it. This was something Money Magazine looked at economic factors, they took housing costs, quality of life, all that data, and they put it together and came to us and said that you belong on that list. “

The median household income for Nixa residents is $52,000 with an average home price of $166,000.

The city has a high school graduation rate of 92%.

Several northwest Arkansas communities also made the list.
