PGA Tour's '17-18 Schedule Includes New Events, Record Prize Money

The PGA Tour today released its '17-18 schedule, with total prize money coming in at a record of more than $363M. The slate of 49 tournaments includes "two new events" -- the CJ Cup in South Korea and the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship in the Dominican Republic. The latter was "previously a Web.com Tour tournament" (GOLFWEEK.com, 9/19).

Aspects of the schedule are "still up in the air," as "only time will tell" how the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, site of a March event, will come through Hurricane Maria. Two scheduled events are "scrambling to find sites, and in the case of the Tiger Woods-sponsored National, a sponsor." The Barbasol Championship, previously played in Opelika, Ala., is "searching for a new venue" (JACKSONVILLE.com, 9/19).
