The Florida Gators defensive backs have put on a show so far this year especially the young guys who have pushed into a starting role.
That’s something that several commits have noticed including defensive back commit Randy Russell (5-11, 180, Miami, FL. Carol City) who enjoyed his visit to Gainesville on Saturday.
“The game was crazy, the team is really improving since the Michigan game,” Russell said. “It was the best atmosphere that I’ve ever been a part of, the fans were loud.”
There’s really not any message that Russell needs to hear from the coaching staff but they continue to share the same message as they have over the last few months.
“I talked to all of the coaches,” he said of who he talked to on Saturday. “They’re all family and they just tell me the same thing that they want me and need me here. They want me to keep recruiting guys.
The Gators won’t have to wait much longer to get Russell in Gainesville as the defensive back is graduating school early.
“I’m a mid year guy,” Russell said. “I had already pre determined that I was going to early enroll because I was ahead in school but Florida liked it.”
With Russell graduating early, he doesn’t have much time left in his recruitment but he knows where he wants to attend school and where he will take an official visit too.
“I’m taking my official for the Florida State game,” he said on his Florida official. “I’m not taking anymore visits, I’m locked down 100%, not going anywhere else.”
INSIDERS TAKE: Russell is locked in with his commitment and is recruiting other guys to join him in Gainesville. On the field Russell continues to show that he can play safety or drop down and play nickel.
