One of the biggest things that the Florida Gators recruiting staff has done since arriving in Gainesville is that they’ve been able to consistently get their commits on campus a lot for games.
That continued on Saturday when Florida defensive back commit Divaad Wilson (6-0, 180, Miami, FL. Northwestern) visited Gainesville for the Tennessee game.
“It was great, amazing,” Wilson said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “It was a hectic game, it was a tough game at first. But they came through for the money at the end.”
Wilson said being at the first home game was a big reason why he came up on Saturday and he felt the same family feeling that he has been feeling since he committed.
“Same thing as usual, it feels like home,” he said of the atmosphere. “It was loud in there though. I’m going to try and come here as much as I can.”
Being a defensive back, Wilson paid a lot of attention to how the Gators defensive backs did and he was impressed with the young guys.
“They did good but they’re young,” Wilson said of Florida’s defensive backs. “They’re going to get better each game but I was watching them. I talked to them after the game, the ones I know.”
Defensive coordinator Randy Shannon and defensive backs coach Corey Bell are two guys who talk to Wilson a lot and they spoke to him again on Saturday.
“I talked to all of the coaches that I needed to be talking too,” he said of who he spoke too. “They were just talking to me about the game and asking me how I was doing and all of that.”
Wilson is planning on being a constant visitor in Gainesville but he does have two out of state official visits in mind.
“I’m going to take official visits to Louisville and Georgia,” Wilson said on other places he will visit. “I’m going when Georgia plays Kentucky and then to Louisville on December 9th.”
INSIDERS TAKE: Wilson is solid in his commitment to Florida and the visits elsewhere were expected but Florida will get his last official visit.
