At least not game No. 1.
The 6-foot-3, 221-pound
Harrison (Kennesaw, Ga.) quarterback, rated the top recruit from the Class in 2018 by 247Sports Composite, accounted for six touchdowns — four passing and two rushing — in a 44-14 home win over East Paulding.
According to
mdjonline.com, Fields completed 11 of 20 passes for 228 yards and four touchdowns and rushed 12 times for 153 yards and two more scores.
He scored on the team's first possession — a nifty 50-yard run — and added two TD passes to
Steven Peterson before the first quarter was done. Five of the six touchdowns were of the spectacular variety.
Fields' stock rose dramatically over the summer, especially while excelling at The Opening in Beaverton Ore. He originally committed to Penn State but is now uncommitted with 41 offers. Florida State and Georgia appear to be his top picks.
