Looking back at 50 Bratwurst Festival Queens

BUCYRUS - One of biggest events of each Crawford County summer during the past half century has been the crowing of the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival Queen.

The first queen, Nancy Scott, was named in 1967, but she was technically the only queen ever to reign during the city's Colonel Crawford Days festival. In 1968, the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival replaced Colonel Crawford Days downtown Bucyrus, and another first queen was named: Gail Fetter.

The queen's pageant begins at 8 p.m. Thursday at the AEP Energy Stage on West Rensselaer Street.

To celebrate its past queens, the festival gave the Telegraph-Forum permission to publish, in the attached gallery, photos that were each taken on the day of the queens' crownings.
